ACSC Silhouette Range Information

We had our match on August 1st. We had about 12 shooters fire about 22 guns. We had some faces that hadn't been there in a while. We have been consistent with about 12 to 15 shooters and 20 to 30 guns per month. We would like to get those numbers up. IHMSA is going to perhaps try some new categories. The guns used will be more traditional hunting guns. All the details have not been ironed out yet. More info will be forthcoming in the future and I will post it here when it's available.

Our last match of the year is October 3rd. We take Labor Day weekend off for the Region II Championships. This year they are in Lincolnton Ga. Remember the rifle range is closed during the silhouette match for safty reasons.

We only had 5 people finish a .22 rifle entry this month. Jamie Gray attempted it until his rifle tried to cut his hand off. Bring your .22 rifle and your Jr shooters out and try it. Cost is only $2.00 for adults and Jr shooters (under 18) shoot for free. On to the scores.

We now have our schedule for 2010. We will still shoot our regular 1st sunday of the month. We offer bigbore, smallbore, field pistol, half-scale and fifth-scale. We also have a .22 rifle match at our matches. It is open to the public. We start setting up at 9:00am and finish around 5:00pm. We shoot rain or shine, hot or cold. Remember the rifle range is closed during the silhouette matches. The rifle range is closed for safty reasons. We reopen the rifle range as soon as we can get everything picked up. So come on out and see what we are all about.

Schedule:
October 3rd

The board of directors on the advice of the Safty committee. Has decided to close the silhouette range during the Archery matches. Typically they are the last saturday of the month. They normally get done about 4:00pm. The silhouette and rifle range reopen as soon as they can get targets picked up and the shooters off the archery range.

. Members only except for scheduled open events.
. During a rifle match the silhouette range will be closed for safety.
. The silhouette range always works in conjunction with rifle range.
. Make sure range area is clear before shooting or going down-range.
. Do not shoot rifle range targets from silhouette range.
. Load & shoot from the firing line only for safety.
. No centerfire rifles are permitted.
. Any barrel longer than 16 inches is a rifle.
. Small metallic targets are for 22 rimfire only, NO 22 MAGNUMS.
. Muzzle loader rifles may be used on large metallic targets only.
. Eye and ear protection are required.
. Please pick up after yourself.
